  20. Our anti-money laundering (AML) polices are based on the highest standards.

    The firm conducts due diligence enquires on each new client and persons connected with them and conducts ongoing monitoring of existing clients. These enquires are based on the FATF Recommendations, and the EU Forth Money Laundering Directive.

    Where necessary for these purposes, we seek relevant information from third party data suppliers. Where individuals have supplied personal data for this purpose we will only use it for that purpose and will keep it only as long as the relevant AML and data protection legislation requires.

    The firm also has internal procedures to ensure that any suspicious money laundering activity is reported to the appropriate authorities where there is an obligation to do so. All relevant members of staff are provided with training on these issues.

    Where we are wrong we will explain where we think we went wrong and take immediate steps to rectify any mistake which may include an apology, transfer of the case, compensation, or any other appropriate step.

    If our complaints handling is unsatisfactory then within six months of the date we inform you of our final decision on resolving a formal complaint you have a right to complain to the Legal Ombudsman who may require us to take other action. You also have a separate right within twelve months of the original matter giving you cause for complaint to complain to the ombudsman.
